Bluebird Day is a free ocean conditions app for divers, freedivers, spearfishers and snorkellers, developed by Roodos, based in Brisbane, Queensland, Australia.
By accessing or using the app (the "Service"), you agree to these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
Bluebird Day combines weather, swell, wind, tide, water-clarity and related data into a simple conditions overview, to help you build awareness before heading out. It is provided in beta and under active development — features may change, break or be removed, and the information shown is generated automatically and may contain errors, gaps, delays or inaccuracies.
The Service is a planning aid intended to assist your own judgement. It is not a certified navigation, marine-safety or life-safety system, and it does not replace your own training, local knowledge, official warnings, or a proper assessment of conditions on site.
Diving, freediving, spearfishing and related water activities are inherently dangerous. You are solely responsible for deciding whether, when and how to enter the water, and for your own safety and that of those with you. Always verify conditions independently and dive within your limits.
The Service and all data are provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, to the maximum extent permitted by law. We do not warrant that the Service will be accurate, complete, current, reliable, uninterrupted, error-free or fit for any particular purpose.
The Service uses data from third parties, including weather and marine forecasts from Open-Meteo (CC BY 4.0), satellite chlorophyll/bloom information via Bloom by Day (Copernicus-GlobColour), and map data from providers such as OpenStreetMap and CARTO. We do not control and are not responsible for the accuracy, availability or licensing of third-party data, which is used subject to its providers' terms.
You use the Service entirely at your own risk. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for any loss, injury, damage or harm of any kind — whether direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential or otherwise — arising out of or in connection with your use of, or inability to use, the Service or its data, even if advised of the possibility of such loss. As the Service is provided free of charge, you agree this allocation of risk is reasonable.
Nothing in these Terms excludes, restricts or modifies any guarantee, right or remedy you may have under the Competition and Consumer Act 2010 (Cth), including the Australian Consumer Law, or any other law that cannot lawfully be excluded. Where our liability for failing to comply with a consumer guarantee can be limited, it is limited, at our option, to re-supplying the relevant service or paying the cost of having it re-supplied. To the extent permitted by law, all other warranties, guarantees and conditions are excluded.
The Service is offered for your personal, non-commercial use. You agree not to misuse it, including by attempting to disrupt or overload it, scraping or redistributing its data in breach of the underlying providers' terms, or using it for any unlawful purpose.
The Service's design, branding, original code, scoring approach and presentation are owned by us. Underlying weather, satellite and map data remain the property of their respective providers. You are granted a limited, personal, revocable licence to use the Service for its intended purpose only.
Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy. In short: no account is required, and we use only anonymous, aggregated analytics to improve the app.
We may modify, suspend or discontinue any part of the Service, and may update these Terms, at any time without notice. Continued use after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
These Terms are governed by the laws of Queensland, Australia. You agree to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Queensland and the Commonwealth of Australia. If any provision is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in full force.
